Autumn Walk Photography

Hey,
So the other day I took a nice walk and decided to take some photos of all the beautiful autumnal scenery. I love it now the leaves have turned into all these beautiful shades, and it gives me a chance to wear my burgundy parker coat.

So that’s all of my photos. I would really recommend taking an autumn walk as everything looks so picturesque at the moment. Let me know what you love about autumn down below,

Q&A#1 \\ general

Okay, so this is a very exciting post for me because it is my very first Q&A. These questions have come from you, my readers, and if you want to ask a question for my next Q&A, just go over to my Q&A page. On with the questions...

Other than blogging, what do you enjoy doing?
I do really love blogging, but I enjoy many other things to. In school I enjoy English and Art, as well as loving netball –my favourite sport- which I play in the school team. Other random hobbies of mine are scrapbooking, reading, painting and baking.

Do you prefer Christmas or your birthday?
Christmas. It’s my favourite time of the whole year and nothing can beat it. At Christmas, there’s festive music and adverts for months before and hours spent over choosing and shopping for others gifts. The excitement in a child’s face at Christmas and the daily advent chocolates all add up to this amazing day. Family’s come together and eat, and laugh and smile. It’s magical.
Birthdays are still great but I prefer when you can give and receive on the same day, instead of the attention being all on you.

What are your top five songs?
I change my music SOOO often but five of the songs, that I thing will never leave my ipod, are:
  1. The Promise- Emma Blackery
  2. We Are One- Lion King 2 (My favourite Disney song)
  3. What a Night- Loveable Rouges
  4. Imagine- Nico & Vinz
  5. I am also loving James Bay in general

What is your favourite quote?
I think it is a nice idea to live your life by one quote, but for me I just like so many. My favourite quotes changes all the time, depending on my mood/ situation. My favourite quote used to be ‘friends are never apart, maybe by distance but never by heart’, because I left a lot of my friends when I moved back to the UK and I always wanted to remember that that didn’t mean our friendships were over.
I also like a lot of quotes about happiness, such as ‘happiness is a state of mind’, ‘find joy in the ordinary’, ‘when it rains, look for rainbows, when it’s dark, look for stars’ and ‘happiness is letting go of what you think your life should look like and celebrating it for everything it is’.

What are things that make you laugh?
My best friend, Miranda Hart, family, old memories, my guide friends. So many things.

Favourite 3 ever movies
These questions are really difficult! I do watch quite a few movies, but I love modern movies, slightly older movies, Disney movies, festive movies- too much choice. In general my favourite movies, in no particular order, are:
  • Father of the Bride (1991)
  • About Time (2013)
  •  Disney- I can’t decide between them, sorry- either UP, Beauty and the Beast or Tangled.

What is your favourite season and why?
Winter. If you didn’t gather from the earlier question, I love Christmas and winter brings Christmas. Cold days wrapped up in a coats with a hot chocolate in your cosy PJs, what more could you want. Not forgetting snow, Christmas lights and winter drinks.

What is your best blogging advice! your blog is great btw
Thank you so much, I am glad you enjoy reading it. I wouldn’t say I’m in a position to give too much advice about blogging, as my blog is still small, but there are a few top tips I have for new bloggers.
  • Don’t give up, you’ll improve with time. It takes quite a lot of time to expand your audience and the quality of your posts, but keep going.
  •  Plan and schedule your posts. For the first few months I didn’t plan or schedule, and I posted at random points with any idea that went into my head. Now, every month I plan ahead of the month and decide on what sort of posts I want to write. I keep it all in my blog notebook, which is one tip I really recommend
  • Photography. For me, the photography on my blog is one thing I am truly proud of. I am very lucky to have an amazing camera, but if you or you don’t, make sure that your photos are focused and aesthetically pleasing! One of my favourite posts about blog photography is linked here.
  • Write about what you love. Never stop doing this, or you shouldn’t be writing anything because people come to your blog for what you have to say

And that is all my questions! I hope you liked me answers! Anyone can ask a question on my Q&A page, and you can stay anonymous if you want! Next months Q&A is going to be winter/ Christmas themed, so go over and ask me some questions! Thank you so much, I hope your day is going to be wonderful,

My Travel Diary- Bahrain and Dubai

Hey,
So over half term I went on holiday to Bahrain and Dubai in the Middle East. It was lovely and hot, so I thought you'd like to see some of my photos from my trip. We had four days in Bahrain and four days in Dubai.
Bahrain is a smaller, less well-known country, and I used to live there when I was younger. When we were there we mainly visited places we used to go, but also had a lot of beach and pool time.
In Dubai we stayed in Jumeirah beach, and got to see the tallest building, lots of sun and even a water park called 'Wild Wadi'.

So that's all my photos, I hope you enjoyed this next post in my 'my travel diary' series. Where was your last holiday? I hope you all have great days,

Book Review: One Million Lovely Letters by Jodi Ann Bickley

Hey,
So another month has passed, so here lies a new book review. One Million Lovely Letters by Jodi Ann Bickley is an incredible book that illustrates the true story of Jodi herself. It is a heart-warming and humble tale that can be harshly honest at times, at the same time as being soft and touching.
This book can really be for anyone and I truly believe that everyone will be effected by the novel differently. Each word, each chapter holds support, hope and a sprinkle of inspiring ideas.

Jodi can touch the hearts of so many and writes down her life so honourably and beautifully. This novel is kind and helpful, a manual to anyone who is feeling lost, looking for help, caught up in a tangled mess or simply wanting one more reason to believe in humanity.

This book talks about bereavement, long-term illnesses, mental illnesses, love, heartbreak and loosing yourself in the complications of everyday life. It does not soften these subjects, so be prepared to feel the emotions. It is real, and she tells her story how it is.

I’m sure I will return to this novel again, re-read it and look to it when I am having a down day. I really think this book can impact your view on the world; to appreciate those you have close to you, to help you cope with being yourself and knowing to never give up. Jodi is truly a role model in life and I think our world is blessed to have someone so strong and brave in it.

I give the book 5/5 and more if I could. It’s an amazing story and a book filled with so much hope and optimism, that I’m so glad it ended up on my bookshelf.

Thanks for reading this review. If you have read this, please let me know your thoughts, or any other books you want me to review. This is the onemillionlovelyletters.com link if you want to check it out. I hope you all have an amazing day,

The Sisterhood of Bloggers Award

Hey,
So I am very excited to say that I have been nominated in the Sisterhood of Bloggers Award.
This is the second time this year I've been nominated for something like this, and it feels so special. I love it when bloggers come together, I feel like I find new blogs and learn about their writers.

So I was nominated by the lovey Nia, who is the amazing writer of Nia Elinor Mair. I love her blog, and she posts a variety of content- however it is mostly beauty. I'd really recommend you check out her blog!

So next I'll answer the questions I was set, I hope you enjoy reading them.

1. What's your favourite subject at school?
I change my mind on this all the time, but I think it would have to be art. I am a very creative person and I just find art fun and calming. I also do textiles, which I love, but I always get very stressed and confused, so art is better.

2. Lipstick or lipgloss?
I am really a mixture. I mostly use lipsticks because I find them smoother and longer lasting, however I hae recently been loving the Soap&Glory gloss stick. I am normally put off my lipstick because it’s sticky and glittery but the gloss stick is not.

3. What's your favourite magazine to read?
I love LOOK magazine. I have a subscription to it so I get weekly magazines. Some part’s are a bit too gossipy but I enjoy the fashion and catwalk information. If you have any other recommendations please let me know in the comments.

4. How much do you read?
I read quite a lot. I love reading and books, and this year I have read at least one book every month. I think reading is really good for you, and I enjoy reading about new characters and their stories. If you want to read my last book review, click here.

5.What social media do you use and what is your favourite?
My personal (not blog related) social medias are Facebook, Snapchat and Pinterest. I am considering getting Instagram in the future but at the moment I’m happy with the ones I have. I probably use Facebook the most, as I use it to talk to me close friends and those who live overseas.

6. Do you prefer handbags or shoes?
I would say bags, over handbags, because I am a bit a bag addict. I love all accessories but I do buy lots and losts of bags. My favourite bags are my school bag, included in this post, my Primark satchel and a chic rucksack from New Look, included in this post.

7. What's your favourite clothes store?
I shop in lots of different stores, but my favourites are probably H&M and New Look. They are both really affordable and have some great pieces. I also have a local New Look, so it means it is more convenient to shop there.

8. Starbucks or Costa? What's your order?
I love Starbucks, but I don’t go there often because I don’t have a local one. We have a Costa on our highstreet so I will often go there, and in the autumn my order is currently a small Mocha. My favourite coffee! The Christmas range is coming in soon, so I am excited to try the new range.

9. What's your favourite takeaway?
This is a tricky one because it depends on my mood. I like Chinese and love Chicken Tikka Curry, but some days I crave Fish & Chips or Pizza. I don’t really know, sorry :p

10. What is one book you know you will read over and over again?

My favourite book has been Heaven by Christop Marzi, review here, and I have read it 3-4 times. My favourite series is the Divergent series, reviews here, and have read them lots. However I have recently finished One Million Lovely Letters by Jodi Ann Bickley, and that is, in my opinion, one of the best novels in the world. A review is coming soon, so subscribe to see that!

Next I am going to nominate 10 new bloggers. I love all of these bloggers so please do check them out!

So the rules to this tag are:
1.Thank the blogger who nominated you including a link to their blog
2. Put the award logo on your blog or make your own
3. Answer the questions
4. Set 10 questions for your nominees to answer
5. Nominate 10 different bloggers

So there's my Sisterhood of Bloggers award post. What are your answers to these questions? Please let me know in the comments. I am also holding my first Q&A, my page is linked down below, and this one is not going to be themed so ask away! I hope everyone has a happy day,

One Year Blogging!

Hey,
So I'm super excited because this month hold's the brilliant event of my blog's 1 year anniversary.
I can't believe mydaisychaincloset.blogspot.co.uk is one year old, it feels like only yesterday that I decided to make my own spot on the internet and I've loved every second since.

When I made this blog I didnt know what to except. I think I thought that it would be a place where one or two people would read my thoughts but now I feel like part of a blogging community. I love to blog, and if you're considering it- please do! My blog makes me happy, and I feel proud of all I put on it.

Over the last year, I feel like so much of my blogging has improved- including my writing, presenting, photography and communicating with my audience and other bloggers. My first year has seen the new look of my blog, joint blog posts, my travel diary, #summerstyle and monthly book reviews. Some of my favourite posts are my Kimono OOTDwhat's in my travel bag but all of my posts I love.

I want to thank all of my followers and readers. I mainly find followers on blogger, google+ and bloglovin, and if you want to subscribe mydaisychaincloset.blogspot.co.uk please follow links at the bottom of the page.

Here are some statistics about mydaisychaincloset for you:

85 blog posts
Readers from 10 different countries
2125 overall reads, I think this counts my own though
850 views from the USA
9 book reviews
My most popular post is a Review on my Primark Boots

To celebrate the 1st anninversary of a few things will be taking place.

The first is that my username, found at the bottom of every blog post is changing from Lydia xoxox to Lydia Eve. This means that you can now find me on all my social networks as Lydia Eve, or something similar i.e. lydia_eve.

The second, and probably most exciting, thing is that I now have more social media pages. I have my Bloglovin and Google+, but I have now made a Pinterest page for the blog, where you can follow blog posts and things I pin, as well as a Qoohme page, where I will be hosting Q&As.
I want my audience to know me better, and having a Qoohme page lets me do it. Here you can get an account and ask me questions, which I can then include in posts. I would really appriciate you getting an account because it means I can communicate with my audience better.
I am also inviting some bloggers to join me in using the website. This is optional to them, but I would love it!
I'm tagging JennyBeccaNiaBethany and Hannah, and also YOU.

I am also planning some exciting things for December this year, so stay tuned and subscribe!

But I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all my readers and subscribers. It means so much that you've even read this post. I love blogging, and it is now my favourite hobby. Your reads and comments really cheer me up, and I feel your support is what has kept me blogging and will keep my blogging. Thank you to all the lovely girlies I have also had the please of emailing or collabing with, I love that we can all come together as a community.

So my blog is now one, and I'm sure it will keep evolving and changing for a while longer. I hope you have enjoyed this post, are excited for the new news and what's to come. As always, I hope your days are amazing,

Cinders Bath Bomb | Lush Reviews

Hey,
So this is another of my Lush bath bomb reviews. This time I went in and the store had all the new items in, however I could not let myself buy Christmassy things- so I bought Cinders, a fireworks night themed bath bomb.

The first thing I loved about this is the smell. Now autumn/winter has hit, I no longer want sweet scents or fresh fragrances, but a warmer deeper smell. This is hat Cinders gives you. Made with popping candy, cinnamon leaf oil and almond oil, as well as orange, the scent isn’t too overpowering but works a treat.

The bath bomb is smaller than the large bat bomb, so is just £2.50. When dropped into the bath it fizzes and foams, distributing colour into the water. The pigment of the colour is great, but the fact its yellow really isn’t. I just feel like it’s a bit like sitting in wee!

Apart from that, it’s a lovely bath bomb and is great for cooler, darker nights. Have you tried Cinders? Let me know what you thought of it, and any other festive lush bath bombs that you love,
