Bathtime Review: Shea Butter by Body Shop

Hey,
So today I decided that it was time for another of my bathtime reviews. I haven’t done one of these in a while so I hope you’ll all enjoy it and remember to leave your recommendations down below.

So today I will be reviewing some Shea Butter scented products from the Body Shop. Shea butter is made from nuts, and has a sweet nutty scent. I find the fragrance really inoffensive and soothing, so is great for a bath. It’s not overpowering or in your face, so I think this range is one a lot of people would like.

Nail Polsih Review: The Perfect Nude 'Lychee'

For a long time now, I’ve been on the search for the perfect nude manicure. Painting my nails is one of the things I love to do, but when I’m not feeling the bright bold shade- then I need something simpler.

So after trying out a few different shades and brands, I came across a wonderful shade from BarryM. I know I talk about these polishes loads, which was why I wanted to try out some different brands before I tried this one, but there really is no good alternative for the same price.

The shade is ‘Lychee’ fromBarry M’s Gelly Hi Shine range. The colour really compliments my skin tone, and isn’t too pinky or yellows. It’s the perfect balance. I’ve worn this polish a few times now and I just keep coming back wanting more.

I feel like my hands look prettier with this on and the fact its nude means I don’t have to worn about clashing colours. Furthermore, as well as this lasting all week without chips, I don’t even have to change it because it will always match and blend into any look. I love this for day wear, night wear and I think it’s a great substitute for a coloured shade.

The polish is a bargain at just £3.99- how I love Barry M’s prices- and there’s is no need for an additional topcoat or base. This formulation is thick, I apply two coats, and an all-in-one.

So, what nail polish shades are you loving at the moment? What brand keeps you addictively buying new shade? I’d love to know in the comments! I’ll see you all on Sunday, have a lovely day,

Haul - Spring Summer 15

Hey,
So I’m going on holiday soon and so over the last few weeks, and months, I’ve been buying lots of new bits and bobs. I know it’s oh but only march but a lot of these items are summery as I’m going off to the Caribbean! All this stuff, apart from the odd thing, should still be in the shops, so I hope you enjoy seeing my recent buys.

Book Review: Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Hey,

So I know how ridiculously late my monthly book review is as this is my review of my February reading, but I’ve been a little behind! However I’m going to try to get back on top of it all. For now, this is my review for the novel Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.

The first thing I wanted to say is that this book was not what I expected. I’d heard a lot of praise about this, so when my friend let me borrow her copy, I couldn’t wait to read it. Yet this wasn’t the plot that I had imagined and I’m not too sure how I feel about it now I’ve finished.

Eleanor & Park is a romantic novel that sees a love story take place. Park is your average guy but with a warm and friendly heart. Eleanor is new to school with a family and past she tries to hide. Together all they seem to share is an English class and a place on the school bus, but that seems to be all they need.

As the novel develops, the reader learns more about both Park and Eleanor and watches them fall for one another. This plot is quite typical of a love story and is a bit clichéd and cheesy at times. But if that’s the sort of easy-to-read and traditional book you’re looking for then I fully recommend it.

For me, this novel just wasn’t enough. I felt the plot was quite slow and although it speed up at the end, it didn’t seem to develop into anything really. I wouldn’t say this is a bad book, I just don’t think its for me- I think I needed some more action or storyline! This book would be great for young teens (11-14) but if you like challenging books then I’d maybe try something else.

So that’s my short and sweet book review. If you’ve read Eleanor & Park then I’d like to know what you thought or any book requests! I hope everyone has had a lovely Wednesday,

Rocking the Red Lip - Make Up Look

Hey,

Red lips. As classic a look as a little black dress, yet the tradition never wears old. Bold lips are a much-loved makeup statement that demands to be recognised, and even though I’m totally in awe of the look, it’s taken me a while to actually try it out. This is just a simple makeup tutorial of how I’ve been enjoying wearing red lips recently, I hope you enjoy it.

All Things Blogging | Blog Photography - Part 1

Hey,
So today’s post is one I’m quite excited for and have been planning for a few months. In Blogmas, December 2014, I put up a post about myblogging tips and tricks, and it got some lovely feedback. Therefore, for the last few weeks I’ve been thinking about writing up some more of my blogging advice. I know I’m only a newbie really, but I love reading other peoples posts similar to this and I thought it would be an interesting project to begin. So this post celebrates the beginning of a new series of all-things-blogging. Today, I wanted to begin with my personal favourite part when creating content- blog photography. Carry on reading, and scrolling, for tips on taking photos, composition, lighting and backgrounds and then part 2 of my photography post will be on Wednesday and will include camera and editing information!
